City man charged naked out of apartment to attack neighbor over noise beef: police
Staff reports 9:18 a.m.
ROCHESTER - A Rochester man is accused of coming out of his apartment with no clothes on and attacking a neighboring resident complaining of loud noise. The bizarre incident unfolded as police were called to the scene on Feb. 14 around 10:45 p.m. for a report of a noise complaint. Once on scene officers learned through an investigation that there was a neighbor dispute over noise that escalated into a confrontation. Police say Mathew Morin, 44, at some point bolted out of his apartment "naked, striking the neighbor in the face with a punch and also pulling the neighbor's beard, ripping hair out it," Rochester Police Capt. Jeremy Aucoin said on Tuesday. Morin was initially charged with two counts of Class B misdemeanor simple assault, which carries no jail time, but Rochester Police today said they may be elevated to Class A misdemeanors due to the level of force allegedly used. Class A misdemeanors can carry up to a year in county jail. Morin was also charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, both misdemeanors that can lead to fines but no jail time.
