City seeking more input on transportation improvement plan

ROCHESTER - The city is urging residents to take part in an ongoing regional planning effort by completing the Strafford Regional Planning Commission's outreach survey.
The survey, which should take 15 minutes or less to complete, gives residents a unique opportunity to provide input on the future transportation priorities in Strafford County.
Once complete, the commission will draw upon feedback from residents throughout the county in order to develop the Metropolitan Transportation Plan. That plan will serve as a guide for understanding and responding to the county's transportation needs over the next 25 years and beyond.

Through the MTP process, the commission will create a comprehensive road map toward infrastructure improvements and transportation initiatives that members of the community identify as most important.
"Members of the community are the best possible source of feedback and insight on these issues because they experience our existing infrastructure every day," City Manager Blaine Cox said. "By filling out this survey, our residents can make a tangible contribution to the essential work of determining how our transportation networks will look and function decades from now."
