City woman arrested for driving on suspended license after Pickering Road crash

ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was arrested for driving after suspension on Thursday after she crashed into a utility pole on Pickering Road.

The accident occurred in the area of England Road around 1:30 p.m. police say Stephanie Newsome, 35, driving south on Pickering Road in a Chrysler Sebring when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing extensive damage.

Newsome and an adult passenger in the were uninjured, however Newsome was arrested for operating after suspension, second offense.

Pickering Road, between England Road and Tebbetts Road, was closed for some 13 hours while emergency crews repaired the damage.
