ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was arrested for drunken driving and conduct after an accident on Sunday after police say the car she was driving crashed at the intersection of Cross and Sewell roads and she fled the scene without contacting authorities.

City police got the call for a car off the road around 4:30 p.m. and found a Dodge Stratus in a ditch at the intersection.

Officers learned that a female occupant had fled the scene on foot. Officer Mackenzie and his K-9 team were called to the scene to track the driver, but it appeared that she had been picked up by another vehicle.

A short time later officers located Kristy Huppe, 37 of Rochester at an East Rochester residence.

Huppe was arrested and charged with driving DWI, conduct after an accident, criminal trespass and transporting an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.

She released on $5,000 personal recognizance with an arraignment later this month in the 7th Circuit Court of Rochester for an arraignment.

The Stratus suffered front end damage and was towed from the scene.
