Cleveland man arrested in restaurant tip jar theft

ROCHESTER - An Ohio man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stealing the tip jar from a Rochester restaurant.

James Holt, 35, of 1919 E 55TH ST Apt. #1111, Cleveland, was charged with receiving stolen property, a Class B misdemeanor after police say he went into the A1 Japanese Steakhouse at 300 North Main around 5:40 p.m. and ran out with the money.

Employees gave a partial description of the man and the vehicle and said it was headed downtown where police were able to pull it over by the CVS on North Main Street.

Holt was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment set for July.

A Class B misdemeanor can draw up to a $1,000 fine.
