Condition of city man hurt in Rt. 16 rollover improves

PORTLAND, Maine - The condition of a Rochester man seriously injured Friday night in a rollover crash on the Spaulding Turnpike has been upgraded to serious, a Maine hospital spokesperson said today. Lawrence Douglas, 37, the driver, sustained life-threatening injuries and was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center in Portland soon after the crash which occurred around 8:35 p.m. He had remained in critical condition over the weekend until today. A passenger in the car, 54-year-old James Gosselin of Rochester, died at the scene.
