Dale Robert Chagnon ... former Sons of Amer. Legion

Dale Robert "Rocky" Chagnon, 56, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2015 after a brief illness.

He was born June 8, 1958 in Rochester and was the son of Richard Louis Chagnon, Sr. and Elaine (Lawrence) Chagnon Stimpson and his step-father, M. Dean Stimpson, all who predeceased him.

Rocky will be remembered for his friendly, caring spirit, kindness and quick wit. His fierce love of family and friends was his focus and it was that love that gave all he knew great strength. Rocky loved to make people laugh and continued to do so until he passed. He had an incredible work ethic and was admired by those who knew him. He would do anything for those he cared about. He was an amazing brother and uncle.

From the day Dale was told that he had cancer he showed his family how to go through this process with such grace and dignity.

Rocky was a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed meat raffles and the Halloween parties for the children at the American Legion, cribbage, walking, helping others, his trucks and he just loved to drive.

Rocky leaves behind nine siblings who feel blessed and privileged to have had Rocky as their brother, Denise Novak, Springvale ME, Glenn Chagnon, Diane MacDonald, Dennis Chagnon and Richard Chagnon, Jr., Alton NH, Donna Chagnon, Allenstown NH; Darlene Wheeler, Merrimack NH, Deborah Chagnon, Center Barnstead NH, Janine Young, Farmington NH, 25 nieces and nephew, 20 grandnieces and nephews, 4 great-grandnieces and great grandnephews and aunts and uncles and two very special friends, Annette Chagnon and Robert "Snubby" Snell. uf
