David 'Lefty' Allen Fortier ... enjoyed fishing; at 57

MILTON - David "Lefty" Allen Fortier, 57, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend died peacefully at his home with his friend Darryl by his side.

Dave was the youngest child of Wilfred "Whitey" and Virginia (Francis) Fortier of Houlton, Maine. He was born January 2, 1965, in Rochester and was raised in Somersworth. He later built the house of his dreams with the mother of his children, Angela Fortier. They lived on 24 acres deep in the woods, where they watched their beloved children grow up. Dave and his family are proud members of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians. Dave was a proud graduate of Somersworth High School, as well as a graduate of ITT Technical Institute in Chelsea, Mass. After he graduated, he became a dedicated Automobile Technician at Holloway in Portsmouth.

Dave was so beloved by his family and friends. He will be remembered for being a hard worker, always keeping busy in the yard, the driveway, and the garage. In his free time, you could find him fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, hosting summer BBQs, bonfires, and fireworks displays for family and friends. Dave was always surrounded by his family, friends and loved ones. He was always there to help anybody when they needed it, without question.

In December 1994 Dave and Angie welcomed their beloved daughter, Melissa Ann. Melissa lives in Rochester where she bought her first home with her husband Zachary. Melissa is an RN at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Dave was so proud of her and her dedication to the field of caring for others. In October 1999, Dave and Angie welcomed their beloved son, Adam James. Adam lives in Rochester where he bought his first home. Adam is a newly promoted Assistant Branch Manager at Northeast Credit Union in Rochester. Dave was so proud of him and all his accomplishments at such an early age. Live on children and make it your best life ever!

Dave is survived by his daughter Melissa Zabkar and her husband Zachary Zabkar, his son Adam Fortier, the mother of his children Angela Fortier, his mother Virginia Fortier and his sister Eileen Fortier and friend Robbie Doodle of Rochester, his brothers Will, Jeff and Bobby, his nephews Willie, Jordan, Zachary, Aaron, Blake, Bentley, Jameson. Childhood friends, Darryl Landry, Kenny Laurion, and his Holloway Crew. Dave now joins his childhood best friend, Mike Laurion, and his puppy Pookie. They will be together in heaven, fishing hard to catch the big one. Dave also leaves his beloved grand-puppies Paisley Mae, Yukon Denali, and furry nephew Deeks.
