Dollar General fills out Milton Crossings dance card

MILTON - Dollar General will be joining Dunkin' Donuts and Subway when the new Milton Crossings mini-mall opens later this month.

Dollar General, which often serves areas too small to draw large department stores, retails both name brand and generics, including closeouts of some name-brand items.

A Dunkin' Donuts will be the first to open in mid-September, with Dollar General by the end of the month. The timeline on Subway's opening is less clear, said developer Danny Bouzianis of Scarboro, Maine, owner of the Milton Crossings' Dunkin' Donuts.

The popular nationwide coffeehouse giant will have full amenities, including restrooms, eat-in seating, Wi-Fi and a drive-up window, according to developer Bouzianis, who owns a couple of Dunkin' Donuts in the Portland area as well.

The mini-mall sits on property that was formerly part of Ray's Marina.

Bouzianis has developed similar projects in North Berwick and Waterboro.

Heavy landscaping to make the plaza aesthetically pleasing is planned for the front, which borders on White Mountain Highway.
