Domestic violence standoff ends peacefully

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police were involved in a standoff Saturday with a man they say was potentially suicidal.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when they were called to River Street for a report of domestic violence.

When officers arrived, they encountered a man in possession of a weapon, prompting a brief standoff before the subject was taken into custody.

The man, whose name was not released, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
