ROCHESTER - Donald R. Gilbert, 78, died peacefully Monday, November 28, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.
He leaves his wife of 60 years Sandra (Brown) Gilbert; and eight children. Elaine and Phillip Whelan, Raymond Gilbert, Sandra Valero, Laurie and David Segee, Glen and Sue Gilbert, Donna Bonnin, Donald and Deborah Gilbert, and Cindy Brouillard, 22 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild.
Born and raised in Somersworth, to Lucien Gilbert and Alida (Caron) Gilbert, he spent his time with family and was often keeping everyone laughing with his many jokes and funny mannerisms. He was a lifetime truck driver and loved tinkering in his basement with his woodworking. He was an avid family man and could often be found sitting in his favorite chair, watching scary movies or racing and playing with his many grandchildren.
