Drew Alden Hankins (Police mugshot)

CONCORD - A Dover man sought by U.S. Marshals and considered armed and dangerous surrendered today in Newbury.

Drew Alden Hankins, 32, who surrendered at the Newbury Police Department this morning, had arrest warrants issued by Dover Police Department on felon in possession and drug charges and another warrant from Rockingham County Superior Court on probation violations from a prior narcotics related offense.

Fugitive Task Force personnel had spent numerous hours trying to track down the suspect in multiple cities, counties, and states throughout the northeast.

"Fortunately, today Mr. Hankins reached out to the Newbury Police Chief and arranged to surrender at the police station. A short time later, Mr. Hankins arrived and was taken into custody and turned over to the US Marshals to be transported to the Rockingham County Jail," a task force release noted.

Hankins was held pending his initial court appearances on the three warrants.
