Dover man pleads guilty to trafficking methamphetamine

CONCORD - A Dover man pleaded guilty Tuesday to distributing methamphetamine.

An investigation into his enterprise began in September 2018 when an undercover law enforcement officer purchased methamphetamine from Kristen Hodgkins, who along with Alfonz Vei, 45, distributed some 43 grams of the drug to an undercover operative in Dover on Oct. 9, court records show.

Agents observed Vei weighing out the methamphetamine on a scale just before Hodgkins took the drugs and delivered them to the undercover operative.

Later on Jan. 11, postal inspectors intercepted a package from a fictitious address and addressed to a residence in Dover, where Vei had a prior affiliation. Investigators observed Vei arrive at the address at approximately the time the package was due to be delivered. The package was searched pursuant to a warrant and was determined to contain 444.4 grams of methamphetamine.

Five days later Vei was stopped driving a car in Exeter and was found to have an unloaded Glock 9 mm firearm in the vehicle along with about an ounce of meth and 115 ecstasy pills.

Hodgkins previously pleaded guilty on June 19 and will be sentenced on Sept. 25. Vei is scheduled to be sentenced on November.

The plea deal was handed down in federal court in Concord.
