DOVER - Dover Police today say they've identified a juvenile responsible for damage to two sets of ice sculptures installed by Dover Main Street last month.

Police discovered the first vandalism on Dec. 15 while patrolling downtown, where three holiday ice sculptures installed by Dover Main Street in Henry Law Park had been shattered.

More damage was found at the Dover Transportation Center the following morning.

Police later obtained video surveillance from a downtown business that showed the damage to the ice sculptures at Henry Law Park. On the video taken on Dec. 15 around 1 a.m., two juveniles can be seen approaching the ice sculptures within the park, police say.

"One of the juveniles can then be seen picking up pieces of the sculpture and smashing them onto the ground," a Dover press released revealed today. "That juvenile was subsequently identified, and was found to be responsible for damaging the sculptures at the Dover Transportation Center as well."

The case will be handled within the juvenile justice system. Police did not reveal the suspect's name or age as they are a minor.
