Dover's 12th Annual Run Before You Crawl 5K set for March 14

DOVER - Dover's 12th Annual Run Before You Crawl 5K will take place on March 14.

A Downtown Dover Restaurant and Pub Crawl will follow the race from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

During the race that begins at 9 a.m. Fourth Street will be closed to all traffic from Grove to Chestnut Street from 8-11 a.m.

Between 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. Chestnut Street will be closed to traffic in the southbound direction from Sixth Street to Third Street. Chestnut will remain open to northbound traffic during this time and to two-way traffic south of Third Street.

Additional closures will be in effect between 9 and 10 a.m. to accommodate the race flow on Fourth, Washington, Whittier, and Sixth streets.

The event start and finish line is near the Harvest Church at 47 Fourth Street (between Grove and Chestnut Streets). The course will follow a clockwise loop of Fourth, Prospect, Washington, Whittier, Sixth and Chestnut Streets. Dover police personnel and a number of event volunteers will be on hand to help manage the flow of traffic along the race route.

Parking restrictions will be posted and in effect on Saturday morning along Sixth Street (Hillside Drive to Chestnut Street), Fourth Street (Grove to Chestnut) and a portion of Grove Street. COAST bus service and connections at the Transportation Center will remain in effect throughout the race, but some route diversions will be required due to the above listed street closures.

Amtrak Downeaster passenger train service (Southbound at 8:17 AM, Northbound at 10:20 AM) will not be interrupted, but train passengers who intend to park at the Transportation Center may need to plan ahead for alternate parking arrangements.
