Driver who died in Thursday crash ID'd as Lebanon man

LEBANON, Maine - The man who died on Thursday in a rollover collision on North Rochester Road has been identified as a 55-year-old Lebanon resident.

Police spokesperson Katharine England said the driver who died in the crash was Paul Butler, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Maine State Police responded to the crash around 9:40 a.m. and learned en route that rescue personnel were performing CPR. Butler was pronounced dead shortly after troopers arrived.

Police believe Butler failed to negotiate a curve sending the vehicle off the road and and into a stone wall, causing it to overturn.
