ROCHESTER - Two Rochester landmarks were again the scene of arrests on Wednesday, according to a police arrest log released on Friday.

The first arrest came around 1:10 a.m. when police noticed a suspicious subject who was identified as Shawn Clayton Canney, a 39-year-old Rochester transient, according to police.

Canney was taken into custody on a Strafford County arrest warrant for violating bail conditions.

Later in the day police dispatch received a call reporting a woman actively shooting up on the sidewalk behind the Rochester Public Library that connects the back parking lot with Liberty Street. The incident occurred in broad daylight around 5:40 p.m.

Michelle Moody, 31, of Signal Street was arrested on a bench warrant stemming from a drug possession charge.

Both the city's famous Common and its Georgian-Revival styled library, which was built in 1905, have been the scene of multiple police interactions in the past several years.

Canney is currently being held at the Strafford County Jail on no bail, while Moody has been released, jail personnel said today.
