Drugs eyed in teen's death; victim's ID revealed

ROCHESTER - The death of a teenage Rochester girl found Saturday inside a local motel is being treated as a possible drug overdose, Rochester Police said today.

Evangelique Tarmey, 17, of Rochester, who was a student at Spaulding High School, was declared dead by Frisbie EMS personnel a little after 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Police and Frisbie EMS had responded to the Riviera Motel on Gonic Road for an unresponsive person.

Her body was found in one of the motel rooms along with her mother and an adult male acquaintance of the mother.

An investigation is ongoing and an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday afternoon, but its results are not expected until toxicology tests are returned.

Rochester Police in a press release today gave no indication as to when those results are expected.

Meanwhile, grief counselors are expected to be on hand today at Spaulding to assist students impacted by the tragedy.
