Eastern Paradise gets a healthy lunchtime crowd, and we can see why

ROCHESTER - Eastern Paradise at The Ridge was a busy place on Wednesday and after enjoying lunch their for the first time we can understand why they were.

The prices are reasonable, the food is good and the portions are alarmingly ample for a luncheon special.

I had the chicken Teppanyaki style, also known as hibachi, called so because it uses an iron griddle to cook the food.

The chicken came in small cubes that were a bit salty but with a potent and delicious flavor that complemented small-cut vegetables like squash, mushrooms, carrots and broccoli. Along with a mountain of white rice and a small salad, the meal was a bargain at $12.

Martha's meal was an even bigger bargain: basil chicken in a delightfully light sauce that came with pork fried rice, crab rangoons and wonton soup for just $8.95.

The wonton soup was especially delicious with its savory, clear broth that packed a punch of flavor.

Our server was very nice, however I was brought my entree a full 10 minutes before Martha got hers, a serious faux pas when many are out on a lunch break and pressed for time.
