ROCHESTER - An Eastside woman was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a Dunkin' Donuts assault in January.

Police say Tawnya M. Woods, 34, of 180 Milton Road, Apt. #20, walked into the South Main Street Dunkin' on Jan. 18, strode to her ex-boyfriend's table and assaulted a 32-year-old female sitting next to her ex.

Police say after two head slaps, the ex-boyfriend intervened, and Woods took off with his new girlfriend's purse.

Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said State Police picked up Woods on Tuesday in an unspecified traffic stop, saw she had warrants out of Rochester and dropped her off with Rochester Police, who charged her with theft by unauthorized taking, two counts of simple assault and one count of attempted simple assault.

Woods was bailed on personal recognizance with an arraignment set for next month at Rochester District Court.
