Eleanor M. Stedfast ... active member of Milton church



ROCHESTER - Eleanor M. Stedfast, 89, of Rochester died Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth.
Born May 4, 1926 in Kingston, N.H., the daughter of Gerard Taatjes and Louise Mangini, she resided for most of her life in Eastchester, N.Y. She moved to Hampton, N.H., in 1983 and had resided in Rochester since 1999.
She was married on September 16, 1950 to Elmer Stedfast and remained happily married for 61 years until his death in 2011. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who believed that maintaining close family ties was important.
She was active in the community and while in Hampton, she and her husband formed the Hampton Walkers. She was an active member of the Community Church of Milton. She loved to travel with her husband and her hobbies encompassed a wide range of craft activities including quilting and sewing.
She is survived by four children, Anne Stratton of Apple Valley, Calif., David Stedfast of Langhorne, Pa., Linda Beauchamp of Rochester, N.H., and Janice Stedfast of Lakewood, Colo., seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
