Elizabeth Jean Taylor ... Rochester native



AMERICUS, Ga. - Elizabeth Jean Taylor, 77, of 204 Mockingbird Drive, Americus, died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, after a long battle with cancer.
A native of Rochester, N.H., she was born April 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Howard and Mary Drapeau. The Taylor family relocated from New Hampshire to Americus in 1978.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, the Newcomers Club, Silver Sneakers and a volunteer at Magnolia Manor. She loved reading and her daily devotion was a very important part of her life. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
She was a lifelong homemaker and dedicated to her family. After her children were grown, she worked part-time for several years at the Americus Times-Recorder.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dennis Dingler of Americus; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Taylor of Simpsonville, S.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Jo-Anne Drapeau of Milton, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Noah Taylor, Ireland Taylor and Andrew Dingler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Andrew Taylor.
