SOMERSWORTH - Two Epping men have been arrested in a vicious home invasion on Thursday that left a Somersworth man battered and bruised.
The incident unfolded as Somersworth Police were dispatched to 11 Ringer Drive for reports of an assault. It was determined that a male victim was at his residence, when two males arrived at the home. The victim opened the door, and two male suspects forced their way into the residence and began assaulting the victim, police said in a statement released today.
During the course of the assault, the victim was struck with fists, kicked, and also struck with a piece of wood. It was also determined that the suspects used duct tape to restrain the victim. The suspects stole a quantity of cash, as well as other items in the residence.
The suspects tried to drag the victim into a vehicle, but were unsuccessful in doing so, police say.
The victim suffered injuries to his head, face, and ribs, and was treated at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Police say the victim and the suspects were known to each other.
As a result of the investigation, Patrick E McGuire, 52, and Zackery J Fisher, 41, both of 7 Depot Road, were arrested by Epping Police on Friday and charged with second degree assault, burglary, criminal threatening, attempted kidnapping and robbery. They were arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court and remain at Strafford County Jail, pending a future court hearing.
