LEBANON - Lebanon Rescue and Fire Chief Dan Meehan said today that the department is awaiting an insurance estimate on damage done by a town-contracted snowplow when it struck the Rescue Department headquarters on Tuesday.

Meehan said the damage was done by a plow that was clearing the ramp in front of the building early Tuesday morning.

He said while some structural damage has been done, the building is still safe to use while awaiting repairs.

Only one of the department's two ambulances was at the building at the time of the incident. It was not damaged.

The other ambulance is now stationed at the Lebanon Fire Department at the corner of Upper Cross and Depot roads to better serve eastern sections of the town, Meehan said.
