ACTON - The estranged wife of an Acton man is behind bars today, charged in his death early Wednesday afternoon at his Milton Mills Road home.

Kandee Weyland, 46, is being held at York County Jail pending an arraignment after police say she assaulted and killed her husband, Scott Weyland, 43, who died upon arrival at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford.

The exact cause of his death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office following an autopsy today.

Scott Weyland lived at 1097 Milton Mills Road and was allegedly killed on the property where witnesses were present, police indicated.

The suspect, who was also charged with violating a protection order, is expected to appear in York Superior Court either today or Friday.

The Weylands are the parents of two children, who are now staying with grandparents. It was not confirmed whether they were among the witnesses police mentioned.
