BRENTWOOD - A former Berwick, Maine, man has been indicted in the stabbing death of a Timberland marketing executive during a sexual assault in February at the company's headquarters in Stratham.

Robert Pavao, 21, arrested on Feb. 9, just hours after the killing, is accused in court documents of "knowingly causing the death of Catherine Heppner by stabbing her before, after, and/or while engaged in the commission of, or while attempting to commit felonious sexual assault." He is also charged with causing her death by "manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life," a second felony.

Soon after his arrest police concluded there was no known connection between Pavao and the Exeter wife and mother.

Pavao, who remains on no bail at Rockingham County Jail, worked at Timberland as a security guard.
