Ex-New Durham contractor hit with additional theft indictments

CONCORD - The state Attorney General's Office on Thursday announced three additional indictments against a former New Durham contractor.

Kevin Clague, 39, d/b/a Clague's Contracting and Design, LLC, of Alexandria, Ind. formerly of New Durham was formally charged with three additional counts of felony theft by deception related to incidents in Strafford, Rockingham, and Hillsborough counties.

A New Hampshire Multicounty grand jury indicted Clague on three Class A felony counts of theft by deception in all three counties.

The three indictments allege that between Dec.14, 2019, and Oct. 28, 2020, Clague obtained or exercised control by deception of money when he told the victim that he needed a deposit to pay subcontractors, purchase materials, and obtain a building permit.

The Multicounty Grand Jury previously indicted Clague on similar charges in connection with three other cases.

Class A felonies and are punishable by up to 7 ½ -15 years at the New Hampshire State Prison and/or a maximum fine of $4,000 for each charge.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
