DOVER - Tracy Hayes, who formerly served as a community officer with Rochester Police and helped to organize the department's annual Wings and Wheels event, has been promoted to sergeant and assigned to the Transport Division of the Strafford County Sheriff's Office.

Hayes, who served with the Rochester Police from 2010 to 2015, has been a deputy sheriff with the county since 2015. She holds a master's degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

As a sergeant in the Transport Division, she will be responsible for the oversight of transport and security dealing with inmates from the County as well as United States Marshall's and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Sheriff David Dubois said she is a perfect fit for the job.

"Tracy has a long history of building relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve," he said. "We are pleased to have her join our leadership team."
