FARMINGTON - The Farmington man who died Wednesday from a gunshot wound has been identified, however, a statement from the Attonrney General's office today still didn't identify the juvenile shooter.

A statement from the AG's office today announced that the autopsy had been completed on James Laprade, 33, of Farmington, and that the death had been determined to be a homicide.

The injured female found at the scene is expected to recover, but her identity is still being withheld pending notification of next of kin, officials said.

Assistant Attorney General Jason Casey said the female victim's name would likely be released early next week.

Police were called to the couple's home at 27 Oakwood Road around noon Wednesday where they discovered the two victims.

The name of the juvenile taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder was arraigned Thursday in a closed hearing.

All affidavits in the case are thus far sealed as the case is proceeding in family court for now, Casey said.

A motion by the state on how to proceed with the case, which may include trying the juvenile as an adult, will be heard at Rochester District Court in May, according to Casey, who added the whereabouts of the shooter would also remain sealed.

The investigation into the circumstances of Laprade's death and the female's injuries remains active and ongoing.
