Farmington man gets DWI in Milton crash

MILTON - A Farmington, N.H., man was arrested for drunken driving Thursday night after he crashed his car into trees on Route 75 in Milton.

Milton Police got call the for a motor vehicle accident around 7:15 p.m. and arrived to find a 2003 GMC Yukon into the treeline on the south side of the highway, Milton Police Sgt. Even Favorite said today.

"People had seen him all over the road on Route 75," Favorite said.

The car, which took a left off Route 16, had been heading west toward Farmington when it crashed, ending up on the south side of the road and facing back toward Milton.

The area of the crash was about a mile from Exit 17 just east of Governor's Road.

Zachary Powers, 21, of 1083 Route 11, Farmington was charged with DUI, bailed and released to a sober person, Favorite said.

The Yukon sustained heavy right side and front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

Farmington road was shut down to one lane of traffic for about an hour, Favorite said.

Powers was said to be uninjured in the incident.

Milton Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
