ROCHESTER - Distracted driving appears to have played a role in a Rochester rollover early today on Farmington Road.

Police first responded around 12:40 a.m. for an accident on Farmington Road in the area of Country Brook Kennel in which a single vehicle had struck a utility pole and overturned.

When officers arrived they learned that Angelina Adams, 28, of Farmington was traveling west on Farmington Road when her Chevrolet Cobalt crossed the center line, left the eastbound shoulder, and struck a utility pole before rolling over and coming to rest back on its wheels.

Adams suffered minor injuries, but was able to be treated at the scene. The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed.

The utility pole was sheared off and was attended to by Eversource, however there was no immediate information on whether power was interrupted in the area.

Adams was cited for use of mobile electronic devices while driving, a violation.

The accident remains under investigation.
