Fender bender ties up downtown traffic

ROCHESTER - A fender bender on North Main Street tied up traffic in the downtown on Sunday.

According to police the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Lilac City Grille when one vehicle stopped to allow a pedestrian to enter a crosswalk and was rear-ended by another.

Two occupants of the car that was rear-ended were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

One motorist caught in the traffic jam said the accident caused a severe backup.

No citations were issued in the accident, police indicated.
