Forester to lead 'walk and talk' at Hanson Pines May 27

ROCHESTER - A professional forester will lead an educational 'Walk and Talk' at the Dominicus Hanson Pines Park on May 27 from 6:30-8 p.m.

During the walk state forester Charlie Moreno will answer questions and describe the forest management plan and harvesting project that occurred in April.

Participants have the opportunity to learn about the history of the park and how the Hanson family came to deed it to the City of Rochester in the early 1900s.

Recreation Department staff will also be on-site to facilitate the event and answer questions.

The event is open to the public at no cost.

Attendees are asked to

Meet in the parking area in front of the Hanson Pines Pool at 6:30.
Bring good walking shoes and bug spray.
Bring a plastic garbage bag to help keep the park clean.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled.
Weather-related cancellations will be posted on the Rec. homepage and Facebook page.
