Former city firefighter gets suspended sentence for stealing patients' drugs

Donald Penney

DOVER - A former Rochester firefighter and paramedic convicted of taking drugs meant for patients at Frisbie Memorial Hospital will serve no time behind bars, a Strafford County Superior Court judge decided on Wednesday.
Judge Steven Houran sentenced Donald Penney, 50, to one to three years in prison on nine charges against him, all of which are suspended for three years.

Penney, besides being a firefighter, worked on an ambulance for Frisbie, which is how he got access to the drugs he stole.
