DOVER - A former Rochester man accused of trafficking fentanyl following his arrest in Dover last year is facing life imprisonment if convicted.
Christopher Akerman, 45, with a last known address of Whitehall Road, Rochester, was arrested on Jan. 6, 2025, in Dover on two felony charges, including a Special Felony, which carries up to a life sentence.
At the time Akerman is alleged to have had in excess of five grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute, after already having been convicted on a similar charge in the past.
The grand jury indictments were released earlier this month.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather that a grand jury has seen enough evidence to move forward to trial.
