ROCHESTER - Frances A. Ferry, 88, of Rochester, died on Saturday, February 11, 2017, with her family by her side. Frances was born on July 3, 1928, in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of Robert Walter and Ella (Smith) Walter.
Frances, an outdoor enthusiast, enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, downhill skiing, and home restoration. Frances and her husband Robert opened the Winter Hill Kennel in Grafton, N.H., in the late 60's. Their entrepreneurial spirits led them to many other endeavors such as Ferry & Walter Yachts and The Lunch Wagon, as well as many income properties. She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Ferry of 50 years. She is survived by her children Linda Fontaine of Goshen, Conn., Robert and Elizabeth Fontaine of Hopewell JCT, N.Y., Geoffrey Fontaine of N.H., Carol Fontaine of Vt., Clayton and Cynthia Ferry, and Joshua and Leandra Ferry of N.H. She is also survived by her sister Janet Aversa of Center Barnstead, along with five grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.
