ROCHESTER - Francis E. Gilman, 91, of Milton Road, died on Tuesday, July 24, 20018, at Bellamy Fields in Dover, N.H. after a brief illness. Born July 31, 1926 in Bridgton, Maine he was the son of Elmore and Harriette (Clark) Gilman.
He was a graduate of Gould Academy Bethel, Maine, the University of Maine and Extension Professor Emeritas University of N.H. Francis was a World War II veteran serving in the Merchant Marines and Army as radio operator.
He is survived by his wife Jean L. (Fellows) Gilman; five children, Dale (Carol) Gilman, Glenn (Jackie) Gilman of Phoenix, Ariz., beloved daughters, Lisa A. West of Honolulu, Hawaii and Krista Pulire of South Berwick, Maine; stepson, Michael (Cindy) Pulire of Scarborough, Maine; grandchildren, Charles (Courtney) Pulire, Nicholas (Jillian) Pulire, Jessica (Shawn) Gibbons, Jacob (Shyla) West, Kayla (Matt) Belanger, Emily Ouellette and nine great-grands. He was predeceased by brothers, Elwin and Wayne.
Francis was the best husband, father and grandfather. Rest in peace my beloved.
