Franklin man arrested for DUI after jumping guardrail in Canterbury

CANTERBURY - A Franklin man was arrested for DUI Saturday night after his vehicle struck guardrails several time on I-93 and ended up in a ditch.

State Police got involved around 6:55 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle driving erratically on I-93 north in Canterbury. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was speeding and striking guardrails. Shortly after the initial report, the vehicle drove off the roadway and crashed in the area of mile marker 48 coming to a stop behind the guardrail in the median.

Jeffrey Scott Rudik

Troopers from Troop D arrived on scene and discovered the lone operator outside of the vehicle, uninjured. He was identified as Jeffrey Scott Rudik, 22, of Franklin.

Rudik was charged with DUI and drug possession and given a date later his month for arraignment in Merrimack Superior Court.

In order to remove the vehicle from the scene, the left lane was shut down for around two hours.
