ROCHESTER - Ice- and snow-covered roads throughout the Northern Seacoast created some of the worst driving conditions of the season on Friday but Rochester drivers have apparently reacclimated themselves to winter driving.

"It was pretty bad out there, but it looks like we just had two and they were minor." Rochester Police Sgt. Spencer Williams-Hurley said today,

This writer had occasion to be on the roads Friday evening and found a lot of traffic on the roadways despite the storm. Secondary roads were the most dangerous with travel over 25 mph proving unsafe.

Williams-Hurley said there was more sleet than ice during the storm, which made the driving a little more manageable.

He said he'd been out on the roads today between midnight and 4 a.m. and road surfaces were much improved over Friday, but urged motorists to take extra caution as temps did drop over night so that some areas could still be treacherous. No accidents have been reported thus far today.

Today's weather will be sunny and cold with a high of 21 followed by another deep freeze tonight with a low of -2.

No major snow events are forecast till next weekend.
