ROCHESTER - Frisbie Memorial Hospital was one of four HCA medical centers in the state that collected nearly 2,800 pounds of food to benefit four food pantries in the Granite State as part of HCA's annual Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows Food Drive. Over the course of two weeks in November, colleagues were encouraged to donate items from the wish list of each hospital's beneficiary. The 2,798 pounds of food collected across all four hospitals generated 2,331 meals for four food banks across the Seacoast and Southern New Hampshire markets. The totals each facility collected along with their beneficiary are:
Portsmouth Regional Hospital CEO Sean Patterson said he was proud as could be that the leading donor of the 18 participating hospitals in HCA Healthcare's Capital Division was PRH. "I am continually impressed by the community spirit of the teams here in New Hampshire," he said. "Our colleagues consistently go above and beyond, not only to care for our patients, their families, and each other, but to support the nonprofit organizations that provide services to many in need in our community. With so many suffering from food insecurity this season, it was particularly heartwarming to see the incredible donation - 1,450 pounds - donated by Portsmouth Regional Hospital colleagues." Started in 2021, the Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows Food Drive is HCA Healthcare's enterprise-wide annual give-back campaign aimed at helping communities address food insecurity by providing nutritious meals to families in communities we serve. "We recognize that many people in U.S. suffer with food insecurity, which is associated with a variety of health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, mental health disorders and other chronic diseases," said Christopher Finley, assistant vice president of community engagement for HCA Healthcare's Capital Division. "That is why we work closely with our non-profit partners to serve those who live and work in our communities. We are proud of our colleagues in New Hampshire who step up time and time again to help those in need and to support the nonprofits that provide much-needed services."
