Frisbie security guard severely injured in early morning attack

ROCHESTER - A Frisbie Memorial Hospital security officer sustained serious injuries early Sunday morning when he was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by a 29-year-old New Durham man.

Rochester Police responded to the hospital parking lot where the attack occurred and arrested Tyler Thurston.

The security officer, who was unresponsive following the alleged attack, had been punched in the face and fell to the pavement striking his head, police say. He was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Thurston was charged with second degree assault. He is being held at Strafford County Jail on no bail pending an arraignment today.
