ROCHESTER - LDI Solutions isn't expected to be moved into their new location in the Granite State Business Park till this summer, but they're already showing their philanthropic side with a $10,000 donation to a Rochester homeless shelter opening this fall on Washington Street.

LDI Solutions, currently located in Portsmouth, will move into a new 24,000 square foot facility in the Granite State Business Park off Route 108.

But according to Strafford County Homeless Shelter Executive Director Tracy Hardekopf, LDI wanted to move quickly to have "a positive impact on the community, specifically with children."

"Before they even made the move they sought out nonprofits in Rochester that they could impact in a positive way," Hardekopf said on Wednesday. "Homeless Center for Strafford County caught their attention because of the organization's vision to provide the best evidence based, two generational approach to eliminating community homelessness in a dignified and respectful manner."

The $10,000 LDI has pledged will help with the costs associated with moving into the new shelter. LDI's pledge is part of the shelter's NHCDFA tax credit grant.

LDI Solutions develops and sells sustainable products to protect the environment and human health, including hospital interiors and infection control products.

LDI currently employs around 30 people at its Lafayette Road plant.

Other Rochester area businesses that have provided tax credit funding for the shelter include:

Witway Supply Inc., DF Richard Energy, Local Pride, First Seacoast Bank, Logical Innovations LLC, Eastern Propane, Raiche and Company CPA, Turbocam, Living Innovations and Broadview Animal Hospital

There are just $137,422 tax credit funds left for community businesses to use to divert business profits tax to the shelter building project.

The Strafford County Homeless Shelter will begin site work on its new facility later this month. It is expected to be completed in October.
