Gary Sabbag ... played football, worked at UNH; at 70

EPPING - Gary Sabbag, 70, of Epping, formerly of Dover, died after a brief battle with cancer.

Gary grew up in the family restaurant business in Hull, Mass., and graduated from Hingham (Mass.) High School, Class of 1970, where he played on the varsity football team.

He was a 1974 Graduate from the Whittemore School of Business, at the University of NH. After college he continued his career in the hospitality industry. He worked for over 15 years with Canteen Services, as the General Manager of Food, Lodging, and the Marina, in the Everglades National Park in Homestead Fla.

His love of the western United States led him to management positions in Bryce and Zion National Parks in Utah.

His career ended where it started, in a supervisory capacity with the UNH Dining Services, for the last 10 years.

As a hobby, he always enjoyed writing. He wrote a series of short one act plays, as well as a children's book, Myrtle and Chuck. After four years of UNH football, Gary continued to stay in great shape with tennis, swimming, and his favorite sport handball.

Gary had a great easy-going personality, and was always interested in helping others when he could.

Gary and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada

He had a long network of friends from his college days and working career.

He will be sorely missed.

He leaves his wife Jeannie, her daughter Marie Sullivan & grandson Damien. His brother David, his wife Marsha, his nephew Toby, niece Sophia, and a Grand Niece Camille Grace Sabbag.

Gary was predeceased by his parents Nick and Helen Sabbag.

ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a Celebration of Life at his Epping home June 25th from 11 am -2 pm.
