NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Georgia Yeta "Ya Ya" George, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and soon to have been great-great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was the wife of the late Joseph George, who died in 1976. He was her true love always and forever. She now will reunite with him in heaven.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., August 10, 1925 to Greek immigrants, the late James and Bessie Tombakos; she was the youngest of four children, the only one born here in the US. Pauline, Stella and Peter all predeceased her.
Georgia is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Little and her husband Peter of Farmington, N.H., and Diane McGuinness and her husband John of Somersworth; her grandchildren, Stacie Little and her fiance Paul Solari of Lee, N.H., Christopher Little of Farmington, N.H., Joshua George and his fiance Melinda Cronin of Rochester, N.H., Destany Roy and her husband Matt of Exeter, N.H., Joseph McGuinness and his wife Carmen of Memphis, Tenn.; and James McGuinness of Somersworth, N.H. She also had six great-grandchildren, Kailey, Trinity, Zoey, Jack, Charlie, Olivia and Riley Georgia.
Georgia moved to Deerfield Beach, Fla., 30 years ago to escape the harsh winters in N.H. She loved the warm weather and beautiful beaches there. She loved to cook especially her traditional foods; baklava, stuffed grape leaves and pastitsio.
Her passion for life and independent ways kept her spirit alive for over 92 years. She will sure be missed by her loved ones.
