ROCHESTER - The motorcyclist seriously injured this morning in a collision with a car near The Ridge Marketplace on Farmington Road has been identified as a 22-year-old Gilford man.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. when police say it appears the motorcycle being ridden by Thomas Ford was traveling south on Farmington Road when a Honda Accord driven by Scott Wood, 37, of Rochester, turned left to enter the Ridge Market Place parking lot in front of the motorcycle.

Ford sustained what police are calling serious injuries and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he remains in serious condition, police said this afternoon. Wood was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons.
