Gilford tent fire victim identified as 67-year-old man

GILFORD - The victim of a tent fire in Gilford on Friday has been identified.

Wayne Miller, 67, died in the area behind 23 Liscomb Circle #30 in Gilford.

The cause of his death was determined to be smoke inhalation and the manner of his death was accidental.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Gilford Fire and Police Departments.

The State Fire Marshal's Office would like to remind the public, when using supplemental heating sources such as space heaters, make sure you are following the manufacturer's specifications for clearance, or a minimum of three feet from combustible materials, around the appliance. Also make sure there is adequate ventilation in the area where the heating appliance is being utilized.
