Hail Buffalo Wild Wing's Chicken Caesar Salad

ROCHESTER - Buffalo Wild Wings is known as a great place to go to watch the game, but they're also a great place to go and enjoy a quiet lunch, which I did on Wednesday.

Of course, it's never really that quiet, with a friendly crowd omnipresent at its bar and a couple of dozen TVs - mostly tuned to either sports or adventure channels - stacked up floor to ceiling and wall to wall.

I actually found the adventure channels mesmerizing as they show nonstop people doing the most oddest things, like handstanding on a tightrope or bicycling down Pike's Peak at breakneck speed, as in they're going to break their neck!

But back to lunch.

I got the Chicken Caesar salad, which was absolutely delicious: grilled chicken, Romaine lettuce, with shaved parmesan cheese, lemon pepper seasoning and garlic. It also comes with croutons, but they aren't gluten free.

The plate came out with the tender chicken breast meat piping hot in about eight minutes, and was visually stunning, including the fact that it came out with two containers of dressing, which I found admirable. One is never enough for me, so it saved me having to ask for another.

The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the greens and seasoning complemented each other perfectly.

However, there was no salt or pepper at the bar, and it took several minutes to flag down the waitress to fetch me some, which was somewhat irritating.

The salad was $10.95 with $4.50 for a 16-ounce Budweiser, so you're talking about $20 with tip.

There's also a smaller Chicken Caesar salad lunch special for $9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
