Hospitalizations up 20% from week ago; Dover sees 29 new cases in one day

CONCORD - DHHS announced 1,317 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Sunday with a PCR test positivity rate of 8.1 percent.

The newly identified cases include 163 minors and 113 from Strafford County.

Local current case counts show Dover as the county hot spot with 222, Rochester at 137, Somersworth at 48, Barrington at 20 and Strafford, Farmington and Milton all at 15.

DHHS also announced 11 additional deaths related to COVID-19, including a Strafford County woman. All were over 60, the only age of delineation released by DHHS officials.

There are currently 325 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 270 a week ago, a 20 percent increase.
