If you really want to make a difference, why not join up?

If you really want to make a difference, why not join up?

We have a suggestion for protesters looking to stop police brutality and end their purported unjust treatment of blacks.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Join the police force.

Then you can go back to the streets and do some real good while serving the communities you represent.

Unless you truly just want to have no police at all and make this land the Wild West all over again.

Alternatively, by joining the force you can do your part to stop what you perceive as any unjust treatment by lawmen while making our towns and cities safer.

I would imagine even the most fervent, violent activist, themselves, would prefer safety or danger, tranquility over violence, life over death.

Be a force for peaceful change like Martin Luther King Jr., rather than burning down so many inner cities across the country where many people of color work, live and shop.

MLK, whose "I have a dream" speech we just commemorated, would applaud your nonviolent and constructive participation to the benefit of all people of every race, which is really only one race, the human race.

Of course, like the Temptations' song goes, that's, "Just my imagination runnin' away with me."
