ROCHESTER – The motorcyclist who was injured in an accident on the Spaulding’s Exit 11 off-ramp Tuesday night has been identified as a Lebanon man whose injuries are thought to be serious but nonlife-threatening.

Christopher Morin, 23, appeared to have serious head trauma as a result of the crash, said Rochester Police Captain Paul Toussaint.

Morin was driving a 1997 Suzuki GSF headed toward Old Dover Road around 6:45 p.m. when it crashed, ending up several yards from where Morin was discovered lying in the roadway by Rochester Police and paramedics from Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

He was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center where he was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon, according to a hospital spokesman.

The accident forced the closure of Old Dover Road from the off ramp of Exit 11 to the entrance to the Rochester Department of Public Works for about three and half hours.

Toussaint said it was unclear at this point whether Morin was wearing a helmet or not.

The Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction Team was called to investigate the accident, which remains under investigation by the Rochester Police Department. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Rochester Police Department at 330-7127.
